We’ve added two new products: the Samzhe HDMI to DisplayPort HDMI cable (1m), and the Anker USB-C to HDMI (20cm). The Samzhe HDMI cable works up to 4K @ 30 Hz, and the Anker USB-C dongle up t0 4K @ 60 Hz.
Up until now, we have resisted adding HDMI cables and dongles because there’s room for confusion here. With DisplayPort, you don’t need to know about refresh rates. But HDMI hasn’t penetrated the market as quickly as DisplayPort. There are still a lot of 4K monitors that don’t support HDMI 2.0. HDMI 2.0 is the version that supports a 60 Hz signal. HDMI 1.4 and lower only support 30 Hz for 4K monitors.
If you’re not aware of the difference between 30 Hz and 60 Hz, note that this is only important when hooking up 4K monitors. Lower resolutions such as 2560 ✕ 1440 (WQHD) or 1920 ✕ 1080 (Full HD) won’t be a problem.
